World of WHAT

I was browsing a very delicious website this morning when I stumbled upon something that startled me. At first I thought the link said World of Warcraft. On second glance, I saw that I was wrong. What is this? A dating social networking site built around World of Warcraft players?

To satisfy my curiousity, I clicked the link. I didn’t know what to expect, so when the front page was almost an exact replica of the official World of Warcraft website, I wasn’t really phased. What I did find amusing though, was that out of the twenty or so pictures of recent visiting members, only one was female. And the rest were stereotypical WoW players.

What did they name the website? World of Datecraft.

If I were a cynic, which I am, I’d say that that female was just a guy with a picture of a girl he found on a different social networking site. That’d be a beautiful irony.

    Glad you weren’t phased.

There are some “real” women on the site… but, I would concede that there are, like you has hypothesized, a number of men posing as women… just like in the game.

    Cynicism be darned!
